The Last of the Summertime Vine (and a BLT worth savoring)

At Ivie Page Living, we live for the little things that turn ordinary moments into seasonal rituals—and there’s nothing quite like squeezing every last bit of joy out of tomato season before it slips away.
Enter: the humble-yet-holy BLT.

Last weekend, my local farmer’s market went all in on tomatoes. Tables were overflowing with heirlooms in every color—plum reds, golden yellows, and stripey greens—and the whole place smelled like sunshine and basil. I grabbed a few stunners, some thick-cut bacon, and thought—yep, dinner is decided.

Night one: rosemary sourdough, a generous swipe of my favorite mayo, crisp romaine, a handful of sprouts, thick tomato slices (seasoned with sea salt and cracked pepper, of course), and that crispy bacon straight from the pan. And let me tell you—it hit. Hard.

The next few nights? Same sandwich, different bread. Just as delicious. Zero regrets.

And every night, that sandwich was served on my go-to plate: Portmeirion Botanic Garden. Because if we’re doing BLTs, we’re doing them right. There’s something about putting a simple meal on a plate you love—it makes it feel like more than just dinner. It feels like a little celebration.

What to Sip?

Pair it with a crisp summer white, a cold blood orange wheat from Jack’s Abby (currently obsessed), or whatever chilled sip makes you feel like summer’s been paused—just for a little longer.
